Correspondence : with Alma Mahler and Franz Werfel, 1913-1945.

Noteworthy aspects of Braun's letters include an update, in a letter of 1944, on the fate in exile of the writer Franz Theodor Csokor, who had safely arrived in Bari, Italy, and then obtained an American visa through the assistance of Friederike Zweig, the former wife of Stefan Zweig; and a letter from 1945 in which Braun praises and responds to Werfel's book Between Heaven and Earth (1944). In the latter letter, Braun takes issue with the views Werfel expresses in the section entitled "Israel," about the relationship between Judaism and Chrisitanity, and articulates his own beliefs.
